DENI REST AREA

Public BBQ

This roadside haven offers weary travellers a welcome respite with its tranquil atmosphere and ample parking space accommodating even the largest rigs. The rest area features clean, well-maintained toilets and serves as an overnight stop where caravan users find the road noise mercifully subsides after dark. The standout feature is an intriguing sculptural tribute - a striking saw blade monument that forms part of the Long Paddock touring route, commemorating the sawmills that operated near Deniliquin around 1860. While afternoon traffic creates a bustling atmosphere, the historical significance and practical amenities make this a worthwhile BBQ and rest stop. The combination of heritage storytelling and modern conveniences creates an unexpectedly engaging break in the journey.
